Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will receive an offline mode after launch
Rocksteady Studios has confirmed that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will receive a highly requested offline mode after its launch in February.
The details:
The developer announced on its official Discord server (via 80.lv) that, in response to player outrage over its always-on live service structure, it is now planning to add an offline mode for the game's campaign in a free post-launch update. "We're happy to confirm we are planning to add an offline story mode that will give players the option to experience the main campaign without an internet connection," Rocksteady said in a statement. "We're planning to provide this update in 2024 and will provide more details when available."
The game received a closed alpha test last month, which took place between November 30 and December 4, and despite users being forced to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), it resulted in several leaks relating to its gameplay and story.
Before any gameplay was even shown, a leak confirmed that Kill the Justice League would include a paid battle pass and other live service elements, prompting fans to criticize Rocksteady and Warner Bros. for including the controversial feature. The full gameplay reveal earlier this year sparked even more outrage, and the game was delayed yet again to February 2, 2024, so the developer could make improvements.
