"Sky Creator" developer Dmitry Karpukhin shows off amazing new rain effects for Unreal Engine 4 & 5
Talented Georgian solo developer Dmitry Karpukhin has showcased the new FX for version 1.40 of his awesome Unreal Engine 4 & 5 code plugin "Sky Creator", which is currently available for 50% off on the UE Marketplace.
Planned for release "sometime in September", the upcoming version of the already-popular plugin has already gotten people very excited in the comments below the teaser Dmitry posted on X yesterday.
It offers "puddles, ripples, rain drops, rain streaks, rain splatter, wind, and volumetric rain splashes", according to Karpukhin himself, with most of the material effects being simulated in Niagara.
Described by the developer as "an extensive tool to control dynamic weather and time of day using realistic volumetric clouds, atmosphere, and visual effects in Unreal Engine" on the UE Marketplace, "Sky Creator" has been available since April 2021.
It has 20 five-star reviews with comments such as, "AAA quality skies made easy!", "it's incredible", and "amazing, easy, and beautiful" from happy users. Karpukhin has also answered 156/156 questions on the plugin and seems to be highly committed to improving it with each release.
Version 1.40 certainly looks like the best one yet, and there's apparently even more to come in the future.
