Square Enix has announced that the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth demo will be updated to address visual quality issues in Performance mode.

The details:

  • Following the release of Rebirth's demo earlier this month, players have reported visual issues in its "60 FPS Performance mode," which makes the game appear considerably blurrier than the 4K Graphics mode despite it running at 1440p resolution.

  • Square Enix has now confirmed that a patch will be released on February 21 to improve the overall quality of Performance mode, with the fixes carried over to the full release on the 29th.

  • The demo version of Rebirth allows players to control Cloud and the antagonist Sephiroth during a flashback section, as well as explore Gaia's world beyond Midgar. Progress will be carried over to the full game, and Square Enix plans to add an explorable portion of the Junon region in an upcoming update, which will most likely also include the visual upgrade.
