A new job listing at the publisher confirms that a new title in the Little Nightmares franchise is on the way, this time with a new developer.
The details:
- The Game Spoof came across a recent job posting for a "Producer Assistant" internship at Bandai Namco Europe to work on the "Little Nightmares IP." The assistant will assist the game's development team with "day-to-day production activities," such as "reviewing the game on multiple platforms, making comparative playthroughs, and tracking all meetings through meeting notes.”
- Following their respective releases, the first two titles in the franchise received widespread acclaim; however, some are concerned about the new game as its original developers, Tarsier Studios, have since been acquired by the Embracer Group. Due to the acquisition, it appears that Bandai Namco has retained the rights and that the series will be taken over by a new studio going forward, as Tarsier is now working on a new IP that was teased earlier this year.
- Nothing is known about the game as of yet, but fans are hoping that it lives up to expectations, with new additions such as a fully-fledged co-op mode, which was missing from the second game despite the inclusion of an AI-controlled companion.
Other unannounced games in development:
- According to a recent job posting, Bungie's unannounced IP could use Unreal Engine instead of Destiny's in-house Tiger Engine. This is just one of several recent examples of developers deciding to switch from their own engines to licensed engines due to issues during development cycles.
- Titanfall’s series director is working on a brand new IP. Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn Entertainment, revealed that Steve Fukuda is working on "something new" at the studio but was unable to provide any additional information, though some speculate that it will be a first-person shooter due to Fukuda's previous work on the Call of Duty franchise.
