Embark Studios has confirmed that both Arc Raiders and The Finals have been impacted by what the developer describes as "extensive, coordinated" DDoS attacks affecting server stability.

The details:

  • Players began reporting issues connecting to both games early on Wednesday, resulting in issues with in-game lag and being unable to find online matches. Shortly after the reports, in the official Arc Raiders Discord server, community manager Julia Ossen revealed that "both Raiders and FINALS have been under extensive, coordinated DDoS. The team has been diligently working on mitigations and solutions to address the issue, and we are making significant progressโ€”but at this moment, the attacks are still ongoing."
  • Ossen also advised players to "be careful when logging in" to avoid accidentally losing items or progression during the instability. Since the original update, it appears that the attacks are beginning to slow down, with services beginning to return throughout the day, and Embark stating that it would update players via their Discord servers.
  • Despite the ongoing server issues, Embark confirmed that players would experience a hotfix later on January 28, designed to address both the DDoS-related connectivity problems and the unintended changes introduced by the gameโ€™s latest Headwinds update.
