A reputable leaker has claimed that a new game based on The Walking Dead TV series, titled "The Walking Dead: Destinies," will be released later this year.
The details:
- The upcoming third-person shooter will see the player assume the role of sheriff deputy Rick Grimes and cover the events of the first four seasons of the hit TV show, according to reliable leaker and dataminer billbil-kun. It will feature over 15 characters and a number of locations from the series, but it is also said that players will be able to change the story by deciding who to save and kill as they build a core group of survivors throughout the game.
- According to the leaker, GameMill Entertainment will publish the game, which is known for its work with licensed titles such as Zombieland: Double Tap - Road Trip. On November 14, 2023, it will be released for $49.99 on Xbox One and Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC, a little less than the standard AAA price. Due to the close release date, we may see an announcement during Gamescom, which begins on August 23.
- When it comes to game adaptations, The Walking Dead hasn't had the best track record. While the Telltale Games series of narrative titles received praise from both fans and critics, other releases, such as The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, have received harsh criticism due to poor gameplay, graphics, and story. GameMill's titles have also received mixed reviews, with zero positive reviews and a maximum score of 72/100 on Metacritic.
More gaming news:
- According to its director, Tekken 8 will not include Denuvo anti-piracy DRM; however, the game's EULA states otherwise. The director claimed that the text was simply copied from Tekken 7, and fans should not jump to conclusions.
- A fan has rebuilt the classic PlayStation racing game WipeOut to be playable in web browsers. The developer has asked Sony to either leave the port alone or work on a remaster for modern platforms.
