We are headquartered in Seoul, South Korea and sit within the KRAFTON, Inc. corporation. From our Amsterdam office, we cover Europe, Middle East & Africa, and the CIS region, and have teams dedicated to Game Development, Product Management, Esports, Content, Communications, Creative, Merchandise, HR and more.

Our office is situated in the Amsterdam Arena area, a buzzing business hub in the southeastern part of the city. Accommodating some of the world’s largest and most exciting companies, the area also transforms at night into a popular social destination. Not far from our office, you’ll find iconic venues such as the Ziggo Dome, Heineken Music Hall and Johan Cruijff Arena – home of Ajax Football Club.

As the Lead 3D Artist you will be responsible for creating and overseeing the creation of high-quality visuals, models and supporting the artistic direction of the game.

Basic responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of artists
  • Responsible for the quality of the models & artwork and ensure that they are produced on time
  • Building up the art direction for the project by working closely with the Art Director and Creative Director
  • Create realistic 3D models and textures including characters, creatures, and weapons in accordance with the artistic direction, production deadlines, and technical specifications
  • Oversee the outsourcing process; ensuring outsourced work is high quality and on time
  • Participate in performance follow-ups in collaboration with the Producer
  • Collaborating with the animation team to help define modeling standards for rigging, deformation, and simulation within performance budgets, and other run-time requirements
  • Verify the quality of objects in the game, and make improvements where necessary

What we’re ideally looking for:

  • Several years in a similar position, within the games industry (AAA experience preferential)
  • Experience as a Lead
  • Expert knowledge of 3DSMax\Maya or Blender
  • Good knowledge of Photoshop, ZBrush and Substance Painter\Designer
  • Excellent knowledge of real-time modeling techniques (shaders, PBR, normal, etc.)
  • Strong high & low poly modeling and texturing skills
  • Strong portfolio showing 3D art skills and demonstrating a high level of artistic creativity
  • Familiarity with a game development cycle
  • Solid understanding of topology, materials, textures, proportion, and anatomy + animation and game limitations
