NVIDIA’s Performance Lab is hiring a Platform Performance and Power Intern responsible for completing post-silicon performance and power benchmarking on NVIDIA and competitive GPU products. This work covers notebook, desktop, workstation, and embedded platforms using industry-standard tools and applications. Compiled and analyzed data is provided to internal software, hardware, sales, and marketing groups to inform decisions. The position also requires Python scripting to automate testing and develop tools that improve workflow.
Preferred duration of the internship: 8 months minimum
What you’ll be doing
Implement hands-on tests focusing on performance and power on current GPU platforms across real world applications from gaming, professional visualization, and AI.
Set up and maintain test systems by configuring hardware, operating systems, drivers, and software tools used for benchmarking and data collection.
Analyze benchmark and power data, turning raw results into clear reports that help hardware, software, and product teams improve GPU efficiency and performance.
Debug issues that arise during testing—whether related to applications, scripts, or hardware—and work with other engineering teams to resolve them.
Contribute data and insights that influence future GPU builds and help compare NVIDIA products against competing solutions.
Develop, implement, and maintain automation tools to improve testing efficiency.
What we need to see:
Pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
Hands-on programming experience with Python, including writing scripts for automation, data processing, or testing.
Academic or project experience with computer architecture fundamentals
Experience with lab equipment such as DMMs, Agilent DAQs, or National Instruments DAQs.
Exposure to performance or power measurement, including collecting, comparing, and interpreting results from experiments or coursework.
Ways to stand out from the crowd:
Interested in GPU technology and how hardware and software work together to improve performance per watt.
Familiarity with electrical fundamentals or lab equipment used for power measurement, such as multimeters or data acquisition tools.
Experience with running application-based benchmarks across Gaming, ProViz, AI domains.
Passionate about learning, collaborating with engineers from different fields, and contributing to real product decisions.

Our internship hourly rates are a standard pay based on the position, your location, year in school, degree, and experience. The hourly rate for our interns is 20 USD - 71 USD.You will also be eligible for Intern benefits.
