Role Overview

The NPI Operations Manager serves as the "director" representing Operations for a new product launch, guiding the process from the initial concept to the Launch Plan Achieved (LPA) milestone. This role is crucial for ensuring a seamless product launch execution and the successful achievement of business goals. The NPI Operations Manager acts as the single source of truth for all operational aspects of the product launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Orchestrate end-to-end NPI launches across functions for operations readiness: capacity/ material, production ramp, manufacturing diversification strategy, and risk management.

  • On assigned NPIs, 

    • Work closely with Global Operations team for successful executions

    • Coordinate cross-function meetings for mass production readiness

    • Identify NPI risks (cost, schedule), coordinate for mitigations, and report weekly

    • Manage PIPO plan to minimize E&O exposure

    • Manage product line rationalization plan

    • Guard NPI Gate processes and deliverable requirements for Operations

    • Attend Gate meetings, support Ops-related data, and publish post-Gate Ops actions

    • Administer Playbook and PLC data entries timely and accurately

    • Maintain NPI status in NPI platform

  • Support NPI KPIs

  • Be the escalation point of Operations for cross-function alignment

  • Is the point of contact for the Business Group and Product Engineering teams regarding Operations activities

  • Champions the NPI best practices and identify continuous improvement opportunities

  • Manage assigned NPI process enhancement project with documentation and training

  • Administer NPI setups in PLC with timely/ accurate data

  • Chair Playbook/ PLC quarterly training

  • Facilitate NPI postmortem review for lessons learned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related fields. PMP Credentials a plus

  • 2+ years of experience in NPI, program management, manufacturing, demand/supply planning, and/or supply chain, preferably with product experience in Video & Audio

  • Ability to influence without authority and drive accountability across multiple teams

  • Understanding of manufacturing process from prototype through end-of-life

  • Ability to take complex feeds, analyze/assess, and summarize to actionables and reporting

  • Skills in analytics, quantitative reasoning, and problem solving 

  • Comply to processes within structured framework with reasonable flexibility without trade-offs

  • Ability to rationalize/ iterate process structure for business

  • Familiar with product lifecycle management (PIPO)

  • Proficient user of project management tools, eg. MS project, Space, Asana, Karajan…. etc

  • Training/ coaching experience

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.

  • Can accommodate global timezone for meetings/ discussions

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly result-driven & self-motivated

  • English/Mandarin is a must
