Xbox's Sea of Thieves tops official PS5 sales chart in Europe
Former Xbox exclusive Sea of Thieves has been a massive hit since its release on PS5 at the end of April, topping Sony's European download charts.
The details:
In a new post on the PlayStation Blog, Sony confirmed that Rare's pirate title was the most downloaded game in Europe in April, and the third most popular release in the US and Canada, trailing only Helldivers 2 and Stellar Blade.
Sea of Thieves was released to all players on April 30 after an early-access period, as part of Xbox's plan to bring its first-party releases to other platforms. Pentiment, Grounded, and Hi-Fi Rush are the three other Microsoft games that have been released in recent months for the PS5 and Nintendo Switch.
Microsoft has scored a few more sales victories on PlayStation, with Grounded and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III entering the top ten in Europe, the US, and Canada. Bethesda's Fallout 4 has also received a significant boost nearly a decade after its release, thanks to the critical and commercial success of Amazon's TV adaptation of the franchise.
