Nintendo is releasing an 18+ version of the Switch's N64 app in Japan
Nintendo has announced that an adult-only version of the N64 app, along with GoldenEye 007 and Jet Force Gemini, will be released in Japan next week.
The details:
Japanese players have been anticipating the Switch release of GoldenEye 007 since it arrived in the West back in January, and Nintendo has finally confirmed that it will arrive on November 30 alongside Rare's action title Jet Force Gemini (known as Star Twins in Japan).
The delay appears to be due to GoldenEye's "Z" age rating, which is the only CERO rating regulated by the Japanese government and requires age verification to purchase. As a result, Nintendo has created another N64 app for the two shooters, separating them from the rest of the console's library.
Those in the west will receive Jet Force Gemini in December, bringing the total library of N64 titles on the Switch’s expansion pack service up to 27, joining a list of classics such as Pokémon Stadium, Super Mario 64, and Banjo-Kazooie.
