Impressive Head Scan in Blender Demonstrated Using Virtual Camera
James Busby, the CEO and Founder of 3D Scan Store, recently unveiled an impressive video showcasing the intricate details of their High Definition (HD) Head Scans. Busby utilized a motion capture app known as VirtuCamera for Blender to create a captivating visual experience.
Through a Twitter post, he used the iOS motion capture app VirtuCamera, which provided a handheld camera feel for the animation. The video's camera work was conducted within Blender, and Busby exported the camera as an FBX file to Marmoset Toolbag, completing the rendering process in approximately one hour.
VirtuCamera, an iOS app, offers real-time camera motion capture capabilities, enabling 3D artists to intuitively produce striking camera animations, simulating real-world camera movements without the need for laborious manual keyframing. Marmoset Toolbag, a versatile software for 3D real-time rendering, look development, texturing, and baking, was instrumental in bringing Busby's vision to life.
The HD Head Scans featured in the video are 3D models meticulously crafted by 3D Scan Store. These highly realistic human head models are the product of a dedicated 120-camera head scanning rig, showcasing astonishing geometric and texture fidelity. The scans undergo rigorous cleaning, retopologizing, and detailing processes, resulting in production-ready meshes with high-resolution details.
The scans are supplied with uncompressed 16K maps, including albedo, normal, and displacement maps. Additionally, they are available in various formats, including ZBrush ZTL and exported FBX, ensuring compatibility with diverse software applications.
These scans offer great flexibility for blending or morphing into other characters, making them an ideal resource for game developers, filmmakers, and artists seeking to elevate their creative projects.
