A known leaker has claimed that a sequel to the successful Harry Potter RPG is currently in the works, most likely at developer Avalanche Software.
The details:
- According to Twitter user and film industry leaker @MyTimeToShineHello, their sources claim that a sequel to the controversial RPG is currently in the works. They did not elaborate on the claims, such as how close their source is to the game's development; however, the leaker has a strong track record when it comes to superhero film franchises, so the source is likely someone connected to the game's publisher Warner Bros.
- Given the game's overwhelming success among both critics and players following its February release, it should come as no surprise that a sequel is in the works. In less than two weeks after its release, Warner Bros. reported that over 12 million copies had been sold, with unit sales generating $1 billion in revenue by May 2023.
- Fans have reacted positively to the rumor, with many hoping for a larger explorable world outside of the Hogwarts grounds and areas surrounding the school, multiplayer, Quidditch, and more in-depth RPG mechanics than the original title.
