The multiplayer survival horror title will be delisted from online storefronts on December 31, 2023, but will remain playable for "at least" a year later.

Gun Interactive has announced that the Friday the 13th license will expire on December 31, causing the game to be pulled from store shelves after six years on the market. Due to its use of peer-to-peer connectivity, the game will be playable until "at least" December 31, 2024. The publisher has reduced the price of the base game to $4.99 until it is delisted, with all DLC content priced at $0.99 apiece.
The game was initially released in 2017 and saw immediate success despite receiving mediocre reviews; however, development was halted shortly after a lawsuit over its license in 2018 prevented new content from being released. Gun Interactive then shut down its dedicated servers alongside a final patch in 2020, reverting to the game's original peer-to-peer matchmaking. Despite the server shutdowns, progression continued, with double XP, CP, and tape drop rates permanently enabled.
The title's developers are working on a new asymmetrical survival horror title based on a well-known horror franchise, with The Texas Chain Saw Massacre set to be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on August 18. It will also be available as a day-one addition to Xbox Game Pass.
