Microsoft has announced that its popular Xbox Cloud Gaming service will soon be available for the lower tiers of its Game Pass subscription, with some PC games also being made available.

The details:

  • Xbox has confirmed that starting today, those enrolled in its Insider program will be able to test out its Cloud Gaming beta for Game Pass Core and Standard players. The beta will allow players to stream select games from their own library, including some PC titles for the first time in the history of the service.
  • Currently, cloud gaming is only available for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers, the highest tier of the popular service, allowing users to stream both their own games as well as Game Pass’ large catalog.
  • Xbox has discussed expanding cloud gaming in the past, noting that it is one of the most popular parts of Game Pass Ultimate. While it was suggested that an ad-supported tier of the service dedicated exclusively to cloud gaming could be in the works, the company shared last week that it was looking to a more affordable option for players.
