India-based 3D Environment Artist, Maithili Patil, has created a stunning Dayroom scene using Unreal Engine 5 and the latest nanite and Lumen. The scene was created for a demo real during her mentorship term at Think Tank Training Centre, where she was guided and supported through this project by Declan Hart.

She has utilized Substance Painter to create the majority of assets, including experimenting with SpeedTree and Marvelous Designer for the cloth used in the scene, and working with Megascans for the fruits.

The work was inspired by Georgia Ng, a freelance concept artist, who created a concept for Monday's Dayroom from Garth Nix's Keys to the Kingdom book series. In the series, Mister Monday is a representation of sloth, so the space created was made in mind of lazing around for hours in a comfortable setting.

Turning Ng's concept into a stunning 3D environment, Patil has managed to bring the sketch to life with burning incense, a flowing statue fountain, and ambient candles. The dim lighting, abundance of pillows, plus various bottles, and luxurious fruits strewn about the scene fully encapsulate the type of environment the embodiment of sloth would adore.

With a combination of Roman architecture and Turkish assets, the scene manages to capture the perfect balance of being relaxing and decadent at the same time.
