Senior Accountant

Job Summary

Inventory management, Accounting for MMO transactions, support financial closing process (monthly/quarterly/annual), Assist with JSOX and audit/review processes, Third-party royalty management, prepare schedules for submission to head office, Support budget vs. actual management, Ad hoc reports as requested by management.

Key Deliverables

• Manages inventory movement across all warehouses (both physical, in -transit or virtual warehouses). Coordinates with Sales, Operations and Merchandise Teams, and third-party warehouses, as needed, to ensure proper accounting of inventories. Monitors inventory aging and reserve for slow-moving inventories.
• Manages MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) game transactions including booking of related journals, accounting for virtual currency deferral movement and VAT calculation, accrual of payment processing fees, reconciliation between CIS reports (MMO system reports) and payment provider reports.
• Meet tight month-end, quarterly and year-end deadlines
• Prepares GL account schedules as needed for submission to head office
• Calculates third-party royalties, prepares and issues royalty statement, and book corresponding journal entries.
• Manages crypto virtual wallets. Coordinates with Global Investments & Business Development on reporting for various investments.
• Assists with budget preparation which includes preparing budget templates, compiling budget files and providing guidance to budget holders from other departments.
• Prepares monthly department progress reports showing actual spend vs. budget comparison. Sends these reports to respective department leads and budget holders. Handles actual spend and budget queries.
• Maintains internal control compliance and assists in JSOX testing relevant to job responsibilities.
• Assists the Financial Controller during quarterly reviews and year-end audit procedures by external auditors by providing support documentation and answer audit queries.
• Other ad hoc reports as requested by management.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

• ACA qualified or equivalent
• 5 years of accounting work experience

Desirable

• Inventory management
• 4-5 years of audit experience

• Excel proficiency
• High degree of accuracy, care and attention to detail
• Ability to work flexibly and handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines
• Excellent written and oral communications skills

• Proficiency in Agresso or a similar ERP system
