Software Verde’s gaming division, Verde Labs, is looking for a 3D Character Artist for the sequel to our game Mordfield Command. If you enjoy translating concept art into 3D models and can help bring a stylized, AI-ruled dystopia to life, this could be a great fit for you!

We’re in early design and development phases and are looking for an artist to work closely with our 2D concept artist and development team to turn character concepts into high-quality 3D models for in-game use. This includes interpreting concept art, contributing to visual development and giving feedback where needed, and ensuring that models align with gameplay and technical requirements.

What we’re looking for:

Creating game-ready 3D character models based on 2D concept art
Working with concept artists and developers to help refine character designs
Producing rigged character models ready animation, and engine integration (we’re working in Godot)
Ability to iterate on assets based on the team’s feedback
Character texture painting

We value your time and will consider meetings for review and feedback rounds with the dev team to be billable. This is for a remote position and we are open to part-time hourly work or contract/freelance arrangements. For best fit be please be prepared to be able to review over video-calls between 9am-5pm EST.

We aren’t looking for AI-generated assets or “vibe” artists, please be prepared to show work and/or process if requested. We will almost certainly need you to be able to iterate on designs as they evolve.
