As a Software Engineer II, you will contribute to the development of metagame systems and features that power a new R&D gameplay experience. You'll work in a cross-functional team alongside producers, designers, and other engineers, helping define and deliver solutions that are scalable, performant, and tailored to enhance player experiences outside of gameplay.

Responsibilities:

Uphold a high standard of engineering excellence
Design, build, and maintain software systems with a focus on quality, reliability, and maintainability.
Collaborate with designers, producers, and other engineers to scope, implement, and test features.
Participate in code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and contribute to continuous improvement of team practices.
Debug and resolve issues in live environments and development pipelines.
Write clear documentation and communicate technical details across disciplines.
Learn and contribute to shared libraries, tools, and platforms used across the project.

Required Qualifications:

3+ years experience in professional software development
Professional experience and proficiency with C++
Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, concurrency, etc.)
Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating across disciplines
Experience building games and/or working in game engines

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience
Knowledge of social systems, Unreal view models or Unreal Online Subsystems
Experience developing UI or metagame systems for Unreal Engine games
Professional experience building large scale backend systems or game services
Experience with perforce and/or github version control systems
