Community Manager - Outplayed

We’re on the hunt for an exceptional Community Manager to lead and grow the Outplayed community. As our Outplayed Community champion, you will be the primary link between Outplayed and our gamers, making sure they have an outstanding experience with the app and feel heard every step of the way.

If you are a quick and creative thinker who knows how to navigate complex relationships, juggle multiple projects, and collaborate with teams and game publishers of all shapes and sizes, this quest is for you.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Develop and nurture our community across Discord, Reddit, and social channels, creating well-structured and welcoming spaces for gamers
• Manage daily communication with the community, including questions, feedback, and concerns, while overseeing moderators
• Publish announcements, roadmap updates, newsletters, blog posts, and other engaging content
• Identify and manage community crises as they arise
• Advocate for the community by representing their questions and concerns internally
• Stay aligned with relevant business groups and internal teams to ensure community efforts support company goals
• Manage community programs, events, and contests to drive engagement and growth
• Oversee peace talks between the long-standing rival factions of the elves and dwarves

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience as a Community Manager managing online communities
• PC gamer with experience in relevant games
• Native-level proficiency in written and spoken English
• Strong editing and writing skills with solid storytelling abilities
• Daily active user of Discord - must
• Strong understanding of internet culture
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a friendly, positive attitude
• Sensitivity and patience to manage a community with diverse personalities, cultures, and locations
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Creative mindset with the ability to improvise and spot opportunities

Bonus Points

• Familiarity with capture apps
• Active on Reddit and other social platforms
• Experience running events, hackathons, or community programs
• Experience managing gaming communities
