The Player Experiences and Platforms organization (also known as PEP) is home to a team of software engineers, product managers and designers who are all aligned to the mission of delighting Xbox players everywhere by creating consistent player-centric experiences on the devices they want to play on.
As the Principal Software Engineering Lead of the Experience Enablement Services Team within PEP, you will play a pivotal role in building Services that support various browse, organize, and play experiences across Gaming clients including PC, Console, Mobile, and web. You will partner with multiple client and services teams across Gaming and across Microsoft divisions like Windows, Office, and Azure to develop extensible solutions. Your role as a Principal Software Engineering Lead will have you guiding a group of developers constantly learning new skills as they take on new projects, so your technical and mentorship skills will be put to good use, as will your ability to manage a wide variety of projects. Flexibility, quick learning, and adaptability will prove valuable, and an interest in a breadth of technologies and platforms are vital. Responsibilities

You will work closely with product managers and leads/managers of other client and services teams to prioritize the scenarios to be delivered by the team.
You will lead the discussions of architecture/design and mentor the team to create designs and build services with high degree of security, reliability, performance, and privacy.
You will drive best practices and share information with the team to build reliable code that meets both global and local compliance requirements.
You will build and maintain partnerships and communications with key teams across the Gaming and Microsoft ecosystems.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, .NET, C#, or Java
OR equivalent experience.
6+ years of software development experience.
3+ years of leading and building engineering teams.
3+ years of experience building, monitoring, and maintaining high scale services.
Preferred Qualifications
Committed to bringing value to a gaming audience and an understanding of their needs.
Experience with working across teams and divisions, with a history of building partnerships between groups.
Ability to work in an agile environment where your work changes rapidly in response to customer feedback and data.
Experience working with Azure Kubernetes Services and NoSQL DB.
Software Engineering M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
