Job Description

Join our talented team as we embark on an uncharted gaming adventure! We're on the lookout for a passionate Senior/Lead 3D Animator to contribute their skills to our Dungeons & Dragons® PC/Console project. This innovative game will blend the features of Action-RPG / Survival with unique elements of life-simulation games to redefine the genre and capture the imaginations of players worldwide.

Role Description

  • Collaborate with the art and design teams to create visually compelling and engaging animations for stylized game characters, creatures, and objects.

  • Identify and resolve technical and artistic issues related to animations.

  • Coordinate with tools and technology teams to develop the necessary solutions to create the best animations possible.

  • Verify the quality of assets in the game, and make improvements where necessary to fit technical constraints, performance targets, and artistic direction.

  • Collaborate with other disciplines to review animations and make certain that they satisfy their intended design.

  • Meet project timelines and production schedules.

  • Mentor Intermediate and Junior Animators.

  • Document and communicate workflow and best practices to support consistency across the animation team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • High-quality portfolio of gamedev-relevant Animations, preferably with an emphasis on stylization

  • Advanced proficiency in 3D animation software and workflows

  • Expert knowledge of keyframe animation principles and techniques

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with other departments

  • Strong ability to understand and follow technical and aesthetic requirements set by the project leads

  • Knowledge of rigging and skinning characters and objects for animation

  • Ability to create and refine character and object animation cycles and loops

  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues with animation in the game engine

  • Knowledge of scripting and programming languages for creating custom animation tools and scripts

  • An excellent understanding of game mechanics as they pertain to animating characters and objects

  • Educated on the latest trends, coupled with a strong perspective on how they relate to our current and future projects

  • Effective time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines
