Audio Programming Intern - Fortnite

Epic Games is on the lookout for smart, dynamic interns to join our dev teams. When you join Epic you'll join a team that's pushing the limits of gaming and interactive. From Unreal Engine and Fortnite, to TwinMotion and the Epic Games Store, you'll contribute to the unrelenting focus on innovation, quality and community that defines us.

Epic Games’ Fortnite Music team is looking for a smart, creative Audio Engineering Intern to join them in 2023. This team helps to create and enable all types of interactive music experiences in Unreal Engine, Fortnite, and beyond. Our ideal candidate will have growing knowledge about game development and also bring a passion for music and creative empowerment for both players and developers alike.

Our Interns are given challenging projects over the work term and are provided with a meaningful experience with high expectations for performance. If you want to build something Epic, this is the opportunity for you!

In This Role You Will

  • Implement new dsp effects and synthesis features

  • Working on audio engine tools and quality of life features

  • Implementing and/or testing audio engine sample content

What We’re Looking For

  • Top-grades in your programming classes, especially C++

  • Experience working with a team to accomplish a highly rated result

  • Demonstrated understanding of audio implementation in a game engine

  • Experience with digital signal processing including effects and synthesis
