What You’ll Do:

  • As a Systems Administrator Co-Op, primary responsibilities include monitoring and adjusting the VCenter storage volume size, managing NetApp storage volumes, and remounting datastores. You will monitor infrastructure ticket queues, installing hardware, provisioning servers and virtual machines, and decommissioning VMs when necessary. Troubleshooting access permissions on VM, storage volumes, and file shares, along with resolving performance issues on VMs. You will mitigate datastore volume space issues and review and adjust reports of vCenters, virtual machines, and storage volumes for optimal performance and space requirements. Lastly, it involves escalating unresolved problems to senior engineers and ensuring their resolution

Qualifications:

  • You are pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • You are proficient in managing a virtual environment (VMware preferred) and an enterprise level network attached storage appliance, including adjustments for space and performance requirements.

  • You have experience in server and virtual machine provisioning, including hypervisor installation, configuration, and decommissioning.

  • You understand how to troubleshoot access permissions and performance issues on virtual machines, storage volumes, and file shares.

  • You understand computer networking, including VLANs, subnets and IP routing.

  • You have experience in physical installation of hardware, specifically servers and switches.

  • Strong communication skills and a self-motivated work ethic

  • A passion for learning new technologies

You must be available for a full-time paid co-op in the fall of 2024. At this time, we are considering students who will be enrolled in an accredited degree program in the fall of 2024, slated to graduate no earlier than Summer 2025. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis during the 16-week co-op. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

BC COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. EA has listed the hourly pay ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, degree type (e.g. Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD), what stage you are in your degree journey (i.e. freshman, sophomore, etc.), qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.

HOURLY PAY RANGES

  • British Columbia (depending on location e.g. Vancouver vs. Victoria): º $31 - $34

The hourly pay is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including 80 hours per year of sick time (prorated based on scheduled hours per week if less than full-time), 16 paid company holidays per year, medical insurance, and 401(k).
