The EA Create Capture team provides high-quality body, face and camera motion performances and 3D likeness capture for in-game, cinematic and narrative sequences.
We are looking for an accomplished Motion Capture Studio Manager to oversee the operations and activities of EAโs Los Angeles-based, motion capture studio. "Capture LA" serves the motion capture needs for all of EA's game development teams world- wide. We capture a wide spectrum of data types - 3D scanning, virtual cinematography, and motion capture to name a few. You will have a background in motion capture technology, project management, and team leadership.
As the Studio Manager, you will manage the smooth functioning of the studio, coordinating with clients, managing a team of technicians, and maintaining the equipment and facilities. You will report to the Senior Acquisition Manager who maintains consistency across all our locations.
Responsibilities:
Studio Operations:
Oversee operations of the motion capture studio, ensuring all activities are completed effectively.
Work with the resource manager to manage studio bookings, ensuring optimal use of resources and meeting project requirements.
Collaborate with clients and the production team to produce motion capture shoots, ensuring all technical aspects are in place.
Team Management:
Manage a team of motion capture technicians, providing guidance, training, and support
Assign responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, creativity, and continuous improvement.
Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development.
Equipment and Facilities Management:
Oversee the maintenance and calibration of motion capture equipment, ensuring optimal performance and accuracy.
Manage inventory of equipment and accessories, ensuring availability and functionality for all projects.
Coordinate with vendors and technical support teams to troubleshoot and resolve any equipment issues.
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the studio space, maintaining a safe and productive working environment.
Quality Control and Standards:
Ensure compliance with industry standards, legal requirements, and best practices related to motion capture.
Work through pre-production plans to understand motion capture session requirements and oversee development of production plans to ensure all requirements are met.
Implement and enforce on-set etiquette, efficiency, and professionalism.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in motion capture technology and industry trends, recommending improvements and upgrades.
Qualifications:
5+ years experience in motion capture production in a managerial or supervisory role.
Technical knowledge of motion capture systems and related equipment.
Team management abilities, with a focus on promoting a collaborative and productive work environment.
The ability to collaborate with clients, team members, and partners.
US COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The base salary ranges listed below are for the defined geographic market pay zones in these states. If you reside outside of these locations, a recruiter will advise on the base salary range and benefits for your specific location. EA has listed the base salary ranges it in good faith expects to pay applicants for this role in the locations listed, as of the time of this posting. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.
BASE SALARY RANGES
California (depending on location e.g. Los Angeles vs. Sacramento): $113,300 - $171,700
Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at EA. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off (3 weeks per year to start), 80 hours per year of sick time, 16 paid company holidays per year, 10 weeks paid time off to bond with baby, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees. Certain roles may also be eligible for bonus and equity.
