Ruiner developer Reikon Games reportedly lays off 56% of its workforce
Reikon Games, the Polish developer behind the 2017 twin-stick shooter Ruiner, has reportedly laid off 56% of its workforce.
The details:
Sources at the studio have shared news of the layoffs with Kotaku, stating that around 60 to 70 people at the studio have been let go, accounting for over half of its current workforce.
According to the sources, most employees found the job cuts "sudden and shocking." Former employees are also said to have started sharing news of the situation on X and LinkedIn.
Following the release of Ruiner, the developer has been working on a sci-fi first-person shooter titled "Final Form," which was announced in 2021 under Plaion's Prime Matter division. The game's teaser trailer is still available on Reikon's YouTube channel, but it has since been removed from Prime Matterβs channel, so the project's current status is unknown.
