It Takes Two developer Hazelight teases announcement for later this year
Hazelight Studios, the developer of co-op hit It Takes Two, has confirmed that it will make a major announcement later this year, implying that a new game is on the way.
The details:
In a post on X, the studio announced that its tenth anniversary would be in November and reflected on how it was founded following the success of Josef Fares' Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. The company also stated in the post that it has "new (real good) stuff" to discuss later in 2024, implying that a new project may be revealed soon.
Nothing about Hazelight's next project has been revealed yet, but it's expected to be another co-op game, as both It Takes Two and A Way Out are multiplayer-only. Speaking with VGC in 2022, Fares discussed the studio's next game, stating that it was "making good progress, but there's a lot more to do," and that it was "going in the right direction."
Last month, Hazelight announced that It Takes Two had sold over 16 million units since its release in 2021, with over 30 million people having played the co-op title. The game became a huge success as it required two players to play online or in split screen co-op, where players had to work together to solve puzzles.
