A Raytrace Reshade has Brought New Life into The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Game modder, Digital Dreams, has used their raytracing reshade tool to give the beloved 2017 title The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild updated graphics. With the 2023 release of the sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, the modder had endeavored to use the up-to-date game engine software to showcase what the original title would have looked like with today's graphics.

The showcase includes the game running on an RTX 4090 at 8K60, with 'NEW extreme settings' and 'Ultra graphic gameplay', which highlights the power of the shaders, but also highlights that these improved graphics may be incompatible with the Nintendo Switch's handheld compatibility.

This is not the first title that Digital Dreams has revamped as they recently gained traction in the gaming community due to an amplified graphics version of the DC superhero game Batman: Arkham Knight.

You can find the raytracing reshade preset on Digital Dream's Patreon page here.
