This is a fully remote, full-time, permanent contractor position. Europe and North American time zones only.

We're VOID Interactive, the kickass team behind the best-selling FPS game, Ready or Not. We're made up of some seriously talented individuals who love games and creating awesome content together. We’re seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lead Gameplay Designer to join us remotely and help us elevate Ready or Not to new heights.

As our Lead Gameplay Designer, you will play a vital role in overseeing the development process from concept to release. Working closely with cross-functional teams, including artists, designers, programmers, and sound engineers, you will ensure that projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and at the highest quality. Our goal is strong: to establish Ready or Not as the quintessential FPS of our time.

In this role, you'll be in charge of:

  • Spearheading the game design team, provide leadership, motivation, and a creative vision to drive projects forward.

  • Development of comprehensive design documents in Confluence and Jira, outlining game mechanics, features, and systems to guide the dev team.

  • Oversee the implementation of design elements to ensure the final product meets quality standards.

  • Create realistic timelines, milestones, and schedules, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content.

  • Foster the growth of junior designers by providing guidance, constructive feedback, and opportunities for skill development, contributing to a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Prioritize and enhance user experience through thoughtful design decisions, user interface improvements, and player feedback integration.

  • Embrace an iterative design approach, continuously refining and optimizing game features based on playtesting and feedback.

  • Collaborate seamlessly with artists, programmers, sound engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate diverse elements into a cohesive gaming experience.

  • Take charge of brainstorming and conceptualizing game ideas, ensuring innovation and alignment with our project goals.

Of course, you won't be alone on this mission - you'll be collaborating with the entire team and outside vendors to ensure we're maximizing our efforts and achieving our goals!

Here’s what you'll be bringing to the team:

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in game design, showcasing demonstrated leadership capabilities.

  • Bachelor's degree in Game Design, Interactive Media, or a related field (or equivalent experience preferred).

  • Experience shipping at least one AAA title.

  • Proven expertise in overseeing the design aspects of top-tier game titles, with a track record of notable accomplishments in the gaming industry.

  • Outstanding communication and leadership abilities, with a talent for inspiring and motivating creative teams.

  • In-depth knowledge of the game development process, coupled with familiarity with diverse development tools such as Unreal Engine, and technical methodologies.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, demonstrating a knack for finding creative solutions within design challenges.

  • Genuine passion for video games, coupled with a meticulous eye for detail.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, remote work environment

  • Proficiency in utilizing project management tools such as Jira and Confluence to streamline processes and documentation.

  • You will also need to be self motivated, adaptable, resolute and assertive when required, and a great team player!
