Role Overview:

Are you interested in being part of a team building an off rails Pokémon Snap, with a surreal Gravity Falls like narrative?

We’re looking for a Software Engineer for a full time position on our ongoing title Snap Quest. Your primary focus will be creating and implementing engaging puzzles & game mechanics, immersive levels, fun creature behaviors, and more. Using Unity3D, Playmaker plugin visual scripting, and C#. At an intersection of engineering and design, we are looking for an engineering candidate with strong game sense, combined with great technical knowledge. You'll have a lot of creative freedom to bring your designs to life with the support of our team.

About Snap Quest:

Snap Quest is a wholesome adventure and exploration game that got great reviews at GDC and is launching Q4 2025-Q1 2026.

Return to Star Island and help your grandmother in re-collecting her missing research. Solve various puzzles around the island to capture photographs of creatures and their behaviors in their natural habitat. Record your findings and save your pictures in your very own research journal. Rebuild the island by completing scientific studies and collecting research grants. Befriend the small island community and make it prosper. It’s a game designed to delight players who love exploration, creativity, and charm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing engaging puzzles & game mechanics, immersive levels, delightful creature behaviors, and more in Unity 3D.

  • Craft compelling gameplay scenarios that captivate players and match the games aesthetic.

  • Utilize Playmaker visual scripting and C# to implement game mechanics.

  • Collaborate closely with the team to refine and test gameplay ensuring a fun experience for players.

Requirements:

  • High Proficiency in Unity3D and C#

  • State machines with visual scripting familiarity using Playmaker or Blueprints to create complex state machines for our creatures and NPCs, as well as A* pathing

  • Expertise in Cinemachine, Animator, and Timeline for content and cutscenes.

  • Knowledge of VFX, SFX, Particle System, and other engine features to supplement the impact of levels.

  • Proficient in English language

  • Self driven, self reliant, and with strong skills in level design and puzzle creation.

  • Familiarity with Git source control / Trello / Discord and other typical workplace tooling.

  • Bonus points for: Tech art skills like custom shader knowledge using node graph or HLSL or Strong design skills that have been demonstrated through released titles.
