Job Description
YOUR DAILY ADVENTURE
You will be responsible for the design and delivery of high quality Visual Effects content and to ensure they are in line with the artistic vision of the game. You should have a passion for making games, interested in developing artistic and technical skills and understand the technical constraints on the target platforms. You will work closely with your lead to make sure work is delivered in a timely and efficient manner
WHAT you will do
Functional
Create and optimize particle effects and FX controllers for the core gameplay ingredients.
Develop game assets including geometry, post effects, from conception to final, polished and optimized assets on the target platforms within the game engine.
Follow concept art, story boards, written descriptions, and scripts to prototype and implement visual effects in-game.
Work closely with fellow artists, programmers, animators, game designers and sound designers.
Optimize visual effects to ensure we’re running at acceptable FPS on the target platforms.
Collaboration
Collaborate with Gameplay programmers to ensure necessary VFX hooks are exposed for gameplay related effects.
Shows maturity in problem and conflict resolution.
Proactively voices out concern to stake holders with supported justification.
Approachable and maintains a positive attitude.
Show exemplary commitment, even in critical situations.
Actively communicate all dependencies, changes and task completion to Project Managers
Organizational
Works according to the priorities in JIRA.
Provides regular visibility on progress of her work to her lead.
Archiving and sharing content.
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING
Has a passion for making games, interested in developing artistic and technical skills;
Knowledge of 2D art tools (e.g. Photoshop), compositing software (e.g. After Effects or Nuke), 3D software (e.g. Maya or 3DS Max), and game editors (e.g. Unity or Unreal) *
An understanding of basic vector math and art fundamentals (lighting, composition, proportion, colour theory, etc.)
Ability to accept feedback and adapt to it
A creative and collaborative spirit
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
A keen eye for detail
