Job Description
YOUR DAILY ADVENTURE
The Texture Artist creates, modifies, and organizes next-gen photo-realistic textures of the game. You will work closely with the Art Director, Lead, Modeler and Technical Director to achieve the desired visuals.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The main tasks of a texture artist will be to:
Follow a project’s artistic direction set by the Art Director/Lead when creating textures
Adhere to specific texturing pipelines and adapt to constraints needed for texture creation
Produce all textures needed (Normal map, spec, diffuse etc) for game production, which includes tiling textures, and object based textures.
Be proactive and work closely with modelers/lighting artists to adapt textures to their needs & constraints
Learn to use good judgement to know when and how to optimize textures
Familiarity with the tools needed with handling textures and follow/maintain the setup structure in engine
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING
Knowledge of creating textures which adhere to the basics of Physically Based Rendering (PBR)
Knowledge of 3ds Max, Photoshop, Zbrush & other 3rd Party texturing programs like Xnormal, Quixel, Ndo etc.
Basic traditional drawing and hand painting skills
Strong artistic sense with an eye for detail, composition and value/colour theory
Substance Painter & Substance Designer basic knowledge
Knowledge of UV unwrap and tiling textures
Ability to accept feedback
Ability to adapt to change
Ability to work under pressure
Able to work as part of a team
