Since opening its doors in 2008, Ubisoft Singapore has become the biggest AAA game development studio in Southeast Asia. Job Description
This role is designed to provide hands-on AAA title level leadership to the QA team/ department, partners and vendors. We expect you to focus the majority of their subject expertise and time on high rated strategies, culture behavior & values, project priorities, challenges, blockers and risks.
As the Skull & Bones QC Manager you are the set of shoulders as well as clear voice to represent our gamers quality experience(s). To be the guardian of quality for our game as well as game as a service (GaaS).
You are expected to play a vital role in successfully moving the QA/QC team from one project phase in the lifecycle to the next while ensuring a strong focus on customer service and communication.
This leadership role is directly accountable and responsible for the professional as well as career advancement of his/her team. We also ask that you create a greenhouse training system that will foster versatility and teamwork.
Leadership & Business Focus
Assess, audit and improve our test harnesses, test plans and test cases. Prioritize the areas of improvement and rollout a strategy that has aligned agreements and buy in from key leads/ stakeholders.
Create a framework and system that can properly address our QA/QC challenges. Align and deploy our strategy that addresses the ability to anticipate, give clear feedback and responses as we iterate our GaaS ecosystem.
Collaboration, Influence & Execution
Create strategies and tactical approaches with production leads to provide QA/QC support to the changing business needs.
Closely work with production leads to prepare and schedule QA/QC resources. (i.e.: milestone, title gates, external & internal play tests, as well as codev mandate reviews)
Ensure we have a clear strategy and planning to deliver functional and compliance QA/QC to the level expected for an AAA game launch for consoles and online platforms.
Quality Assurance & Management
Drive cross-studio communication and information sharing.
Establish and drive a culture of game testing that makes sense for AAA game development.
Create and drive our AAA level QA/QC playbook & framework. This will not only be the roadmap to our success but also the structure as a lead studio we will scale with, iterate and optimize for to reach operational excellence.
Design test strategies using a variety of techniques, tools, and technologies. We entrust you to select the appropriate methods based on defined objectives including cost, efficiency, effectiveness, and balancing available resources, using information and business systems to support the planning and tracking of activities.
Drive and manage the forecasting as well as financial/ budgets (salaries, capex, etc) for the team.
Qualifications
Create and drive our AAA-level QA/QC playbook & framework
Assess, audit and improve our test harnesses, test plans and test cases
Be the guardian of quality for our game as well as the game as a service (GaaS)
Collab with production leads on Skull & Bones and studio mgmt to provide feedback on pre-defined development milestones on product features or services where QA signoff is required
Closely work with Designers, GPPs, Tech Leads, Product owners and Project Managers to prepare and schedule QA/QC resources
Create and implement training plans for QA Department staff as well as partners and vendors
Establish standards and operating procedures with clearly defined training in both testing and lead-level management skills for the QA/QC department
Guide and steer the teams with your solid project management skills
