We are looking for a highly talented, motivated, and experienced person to work with us on XDefiant, a new multiplatform online multiplayer action game based in our San Francisco studio. XDefiant is a free-to-play, fast-paced arena shooter that combines intense gunplay with personalized loadouts and specialized factions, as teams of gunfighters battle for domination.

Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Working with the Online Technical Director, you will help in managing delivery of the game’s online features including design, scope, planning, production, validation, quality assurance, and build delivery.

  • Create and maintain short and long term roadmaps with the online engineering team, and communicate these effectively to key stakeholders

  • Track and report progress of various features and ensure timely delivery

  • Manage the team's time efficiently by task prioritization, resource coordination, risk assessment and proactive problem solving

  • Coordinate thorough testing and quality assurance of technical features as they are delivered

  • Ensure technical validation is conducted at all stages of feature development

  • Develop, maintain and improve internal processes to support the online team and increase their efficiency

  • Run daily scrum standups for the online team, plan and track sprints, and create sprint retrospectives

  • Support the game's continuous development philosophy and help co-ordinate and prioritize fire fighting tasks across teams and team members

  • Apply leadership in motivating everyone to solve key technical issues, especially during time-sensitive situations

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Strong experience in production, project management or product management

  • Experience working directly with online engineering teams

  • Understanding of the various systems required to support an online multiplayer game (matchmaking, load tests, social/compliance, micro services, etc.)

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Good communication skills (spoken and written), and ability to communicate and understand technical details

  • Good leadership skills

  • Good knowledge of MS Office, Jira, and Confluence

  • An interest in technology, and the tools used to build video games

The San Francisco base salary range for this full-time position is $114,000 – $148,000. The base pay offered may vary based on a candidate’s geographic region, qualifications, skills and experience among other factors. Compensation details reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, stock options, or benefits.
