In this context, you will integrate a small Co-dev Core team, who is responsible for overseeing and co-developing The Division Resurgence, a AAA Mobile Game recently announced.
Job Description
As Content Game Designer, you report the lead Game Designer working on the game : The Division Resurgence.
Your main responsibility will be to assist him in his mission as IP Licensor, in charge of approving for Ubisoft the designs and contents based on the Division IP.
You will thus become an expert in charge of reviewing, commenting and approving designs of IP contents and narratives designs, which you will accompany from their preproduction to their release and live operations activities.
You will also be a creative force on the design of these projects, especially on contents related to the universe and the narrative, and will thus actively contribute to the definition of the identity of these games and to their future success.
This is a position that addresses very diverse subjects on design on all stages of the creation of a video game.
Your main missions will therefore be to:
Perform approval assessment and create feedback documents for content designs and IP assets of games produced under our licenses, such as:
Content lists (characters, weapons and objects, missions, etc.) and specific designs of these contents (character skills, weapon parameters, etc.)
Narrative design and assets / texts (narrative blueprint, world building & lore, bios and character profiles, scripts and dialogs, etc.)
Graphic assets (concept arts and 3D renderings of characters, objects or environments, icons, etc.)
Video assets (CGI, cutscenes, etc.)
Audio assets (music, sound effects, etc.)
Verify that contents implementation into development versions of the game is in line with expectations
Contribute to the narrative and contents specific designs, by producing documents such as:
Design templates facilitating the work of content evaluation
IP Guidelines
Preparatory research (historical, geographic, etc.)
Creative briefs of visual designs, character profiles, mission synopsis, etc.
Be part of the production of narrative content with Ubisoft and our partner teams (scriptwriters and designers in particular):
Manage and monitor the validation process of these new contents with our Legal team.
Qualifications
What you need to succeed in this job:
You have a solid experience in the video game industry, ideally PC / Console and or Mobile.
You already had significant experience in game design, ideally in narrative design, writing, world building or content design
Ideally you already have a deep knowledge of our games and their universes (their worlds, stories and characters, key mechanics and game systems, etc.), you have a passion and a natural curiosity for the game worlds and take pleasure in exploring them in order to become an expert / "lore-master".
You are fluent in English.
But what you will especially need is:
You have an analytical mind, and are able to assess, analyze, and above all to formalize constructed and substantiated reviews. It's clear, precise, and diplomatic when necessary )
You are curious and creative, you like to go into details and do researches to support your proposals.
You have an excellent general knowledge of the entertainment industry (games, movies, TV series, books, comics, manga).
You are said to be someone who is autonomous and rigorous.
You are very comfortable with and you like to evolve in a multicultural environment, you know how to show patience, flexibility and adaptability with partners who are not from the same culture as yours, nor even from the same culture of video game development.
You are known for your resilience and diplomacy.
You know how to manage parallel project pipelines and to anticipate the fact that most of your contacts are not necessarily on the same time zone, nor on the same processes!
