Audio Designer is able to work on regular game audio tasks autonomously. They create audio assets with confidence and have a strong understanding of how game audio functions. They demonstrate good knowledge of the tools and processes involved in accomplishing expected results
Qualifications
What you will do
Conceptualize, create, integrate, and finalize audio elements within the game according to audio direction instructions
Implements audio assets into the game, uses and improves existing systems and pipelines (game engine, tools, audio middleware)
Proven proficiency in game engine editors, such as Unity or Unreal.
Efficiently collaborates with the other game function developers to produce, implement and debug audio content
Use proprietary games and audio engines and actively participate in improving and troubleshooting them
Define project features and tasks
Create sound effects, record Foley, synthesize, and work with audio libraries to achieve the desired audio effects
What you will bring
Knowledge of common audio production tools such as DAWs, Audio Editors, VST plugins
General understanding of various audio production workflows
Proven proficiency in game engine editors, such as Unity or Unreal
Practical experience with game audio middleware such as WWISE
Familiarity with digital audio format conversion and loudness metering.
Familiarity with audio hardware, such as audio interfaces, microphones, recorders, etc.
Practical experience with standard tools (P4v/JIRA/Confluence)
Strong commitment to personal and peer development and sharing of best practices
Passion for creating and playing video games.
Highly proficient in both spoken and written English
Additional Information
Familiarity or experience working with multichannel or 3D/spatial audio
Basic programming skills with C, C++, and the ability to implement basic programming algorithms
Experienced in dialogue and field recording
Experience with a high-quality production of linear audio (cutscenes etc.)
