What you’ll do

  • Assist the Sr. Manager, Publishing to produce Pikachu Press books and maintain schedules. Work closely with other departments to facilitate the production of books to the highest quality at profitable rates.

  • The role will involve regular liaison with internal departments, external suppliers, and printers, as well as general administrative duties and data inputting. The successful candidate will be responsible for taking final files through to bound copies of new titles and reprints.

  • Research and present new production ideas for Pikachu Press releases.

  • Identify new packagers and/or printers Pikachu Press could work with directly.

  • Oversee on-boarding responsibilities for new print vendors.

  • Oversee the routing of printer proofs for color, content, and layout.

  • Coordinate delivery of final product to Simon & Schuster warehouse and track delivery schedules with packager and/or printer.

  • Assist Publishing Team and Sr. Director, Publishing as needed

What you’ll bring

  • Minimum of 5+ years of book publishing production experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent of applicable experience.

  • Working knowledge of print manufacturing processes, production, and administration including print and packaging techniques and treatments.

  • Publishing experience involved with scheduling and planning manufacturing processes.

  • Creativity and willingness to develop new format ideas.

  • Experience working with external partners and able to communicate clearly and troubleshoot challenges.

  • Knowledge of safety testing and FSC requirements for all product types published by Pikachu Press.

  • Candidates should feel comfortable working under pressure, to tight deadlines and have good communication and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Base salary range: For this role, new hires generally start between $102,000.00 - $120,650.00. The full range is $102,000.00 - $152,000.00. This range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and professional experience uniquely.
