We are now looking for a Junior PR Manager to join our multidisciplinary team. Reporting to the PR Lead, you will be involved in supporting tailored strategies for our first and third party games, and being pivotal in plans to gain visibility with appropriate media around key beats towards launch and beyond. You will learn new skills, processes and procedures and evolve existing ones, with your career growth needs being supported by your Lead and the company and you will be part of shaping the PR team.

Ultimately it is about the games. The thrill here is getting to work on the exciting games we sign as well as thinking longer term about the much loved titles we develop, so we are looking for a candidate with a experience in and passion for the games industry in the indie space, with a desire to grow their skills with the commercial and creative approaches involved in title releases. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the key goals of PR and an interest in being part of creative brainstorming, using existing skills and those evolved within the role to map out opportunities matched to each title’s needs and secure the attention of audiences for maximum pickup.

The ideal Teamster for this role will be happy to force connections with the network of press contacts we have, as well as seek out new opportunities and outlets to reach wider and niche audiences. They have a good knowledge of the indie games industry and an instinctively collaborative style, always seeking to solve challenges with their expertise and ideas.

What you will do...

  • Supporting implementation of first-class global PR and event plans bespoke to each product, liaising with the Product Marketing and Community teams to ensure efforts are coordinated and aligned

  • Take part in weekly product meetings with the marketing teams and development studio to ensure collaboration and consistency in your approach to supporting our eclectic assortment of external developers

  • Write and coordinate translation of press materials as required; creation, control and dissemination of press releases, fact sheets, art assets; development or story angles and creation of content that will resonate with the target media

  • Become effective tracking and logging of PR activity across our titles, including announcements, features, previews, reviews, prepare comprehensive reports on PR coverage and activities for internal and external use

  • Contribute to campaign retrospectives, providing a full and detailed analyses of any PR activities

  • Represent Team17 at UK and international media tours, trade shows and other events

How you will do it...

  • Demonstrable experience working in fields that have transferrable skills for a PR remit, preferably within a creative industry

  • Knowledge of games industry trends and media trends, knowledge within the indie market would be an added bonus

  • A passion for videogames and the wider industry

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, interfacing with press and developers

  • Multi-tasking, working across multiple products and deadlines

  • Outstanding presentation skills to demo Team17 products to an external audience

  • Excellent time management with a tenacious approach

  • Exemplary writing skills and the ability to clearly and concisely communicate ideas

The Interview Process...

The interview process for the Junior PR Manager role is made up of 3 stages:

  • Stage 1 (up to 60 minutes) You’ll initially meet with our PR Lead and Talent Acquisition. This will be your chance to talk through your experience, whilst also having the opportunity to ask any questions.

  • Stage 2 (45 minutes) For the 2nd stage you’ll meet key stakeholders from within Marketing and different disciplines within Team17.

  • Stage 3 (up to 45 minutes) You’ll meet the Global Marketing Director.

Our average process takes around 2-3 weeks, but we will always work around your availability.
