As the Regional Controller, SEA, you will oversee the Accounting and Finance functions in the Southeast Asia region. You will manage the month-end close process, prepare comprehensive financial reports, and ensure all financial activities comply with local regulations. Your role will also involve assisting with forecasts and budgets, managing audits, and coordinating with third-party accountancy firms. Additionally, you will oversee departmental purchases and identify cost-saving opportunities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Accounting & Finance
Perform general accounting activities, including overseeing the SEA component of the month-end close process and preparing SEA financial reports.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual forecasts and budgets.
Coordinate and prepare annual tax returns.
Manage any SEA audits and government reporting.
Ensure all financial processes in SEA are compliant with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., Tax Laws).
Identify financial opportunities, such as subsidies.
Review, manage, and optimize current financial policies, procedures, and systems.
Act as an advisor when partnering with the management team.
Act as a communication and mediation point between the company and third-party accountancy firms.
Evaluate the services provided by third-party accountancy firms.
Have intermediate knowledge of taxes and the tax system in Indonesia and the Philippines (fiscal obligations).
Manage departmental purchases, identifying cost reduction opportunities.
Execute and evaluate routines of entries, payments, and account receipts.
Operations
Partner with the Global Operations Manager to:
Identify obstacles and tension points in workflows and processes to proactively address and find solutions to maximize efficiency and revenue.
Develop, manage, and maintain operational policies and procedures.
Oversee data reporting, tracking, planning, auditing, and managing metrics.
Provide budgetary input for regional projects.
Provide senior on-the-ground assistance to the Facilities Manager to ensure the successful completion of facility-related projects.
Ensure appropriate insurance coverage policies are in place and handle claims.
Coordinate efforts with internal teams, external partners, and vendors.
What You’ll Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
5-7 years of experience in a high-paced operational environment in Southeast Asia.
Strong knowledge of fiscal laws and regulations in Indonesia and the Philippines.
Previous experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, tax filings, and government reporting.
Proven ability to manage teams, provide feedback, and oversee tasks.
Track record of solving problems and optimizing processes.
Experience in creating and managing regional budgets.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to work both on your own and as part of a team.
Ability to process contracts and lease documents.
Advanced skills with accounting software, including QuickBooks, Excel, and reporting software tools.
Fluency in English and Bahasa.
