Shapescape is an official Minecraft partner, dedicated to pushing the boundaries and the quality of Minecraft content. With over a decade of experience as a Minecraft partner, we have worked on numerous successful projects across different genres and IPs. Previously with our production located in Hamburg, we are now creating new companies in Copenhagen and Gent. We are looking for a new developer, to help co-found the new Danish company, with our offices located in Kødbyen, Copenhagen.
The workplace
You will be joining a small team as the 4th member. We are the founding members of Shapescape Denmark, which will be its own company, operating separately from Shapescape Belgium.
We operate from our own office in SoHo, a dynamic and informal office hotel. You’ll be joining a start-up like team, set to build the Shapescape of the future. You will play a large role in shaping that future with us. Here we produce the next big add-on, we will work on 1st party IP content for some of the biggest brands and the most known and beloved characters from movies, books and games, and we will explore new business opportunities, inside or outside of Minecraft.
We strive to create an awesome workplace, offering:
Competitive salaries and dividends of our profit
30 days of annual vacation
Flexible working hours with generous remote work options
Flat hierarchy
A high focus on work/life balance
Highly passionate colleagues, motivated to grow this new company into something big
Relocation assistance if you are coming to Copenhagen from abroad
The position
You will be the first hire in the new structure, in a position that will grow with the company. You will start out being our only on-site developer, where you will work with our remote-working dev lead and contractors to develop our games. In this position, you will learn our systems and tools, and get a feel for how we create. With time, it is the intention that you fully transition into a co-founder role, being one of the original four in the Copenhagen office. The goal is for you to eventually be our lead developer, and with the co-founder position comes a generous offer to acquire shares in the company.
It is a highly flexible position, where you get to be a part of all aspects of launching a new start-up; all while enjoying the benefits of working in a company with an established toolset, a solid brand and years of experience.
The position can be either a part-time or full-time position to begin with, but long term you will be expected to be able to dedicate yourself to a full-time position.
