As Digital Operations Manager you will play an important role in the Central Operations team, ensuring all planned digital content and activity is successfully delivered in accordance with the business roadmap. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will manage the full digital portfolio for SEGA, focusing on our SEGA of America, ATLUS, and SEGA of Japan IP, overseeing planning and execution across PC global and regional console platforms as well as ongoing life cycle management. Your role will be heavily focused on project management and process optimisation as well as managing and developing a team of two direct reports.

Why You:

You have considerable experience as an Operations Manager or Release Manager within the gaming industry and expert knowledge of console and PC digital platforms. You have a proven track record of managing and developing an operations team and cross-functionally on a global basis. Essentially, you are curious, process-driven, and constantly looking to contribute to the ongoing development of the wider operations team.

Responsibilities include:

Title Scheduling:

  • Track and update the milestones for all key dates in the new release roadmap focusing on the SEGA of America, ATLUS, and SEGA of Japan IP for distribution in EMEA.

  • External planning of key dates with Console and PC First Party platform holders building and maintaining relationships.

  • The internal planning of key dates with Studios and key stakeholders to schedule milestone dates, supporting the full life cycle from go-to-market plans through to launch and beyond across all digital platforms.

  • Understand the SEGA of Europe roadmap and support the wider team as required.

Title Management:

  • Oversee the management of title from kick-off to release, understanding and executing often complex SKU plans.

  • Oversee all Go-to-Market key beats and activity, including delivery of beta, playtests, announcement, and pre-order through to post-launch, ensuring that all dates/times are achieved.

  • Create work-back schedules for each new release showing key dates/deadlines for all deliverables.

  • Collaborate with the submissions team, Studio, and PD/QA to understand the code status and submissions.

  • Coordinate with wider commercial publishing teams to agree SKU plans and support coordination of all commercial-led activity and opportunities.

  • Coordination with Studio/Creative Services/Brand/Product Marketing teams to ensure all digital assets are supplied on time for all planned digital content.

  • Support Biz Dev with any new platform opportunities and adding titles to subscription services (Game Pass, PS Now).

  • Understand post-launch plans for all titles and support all activity including the release of DLC, upgrade packs, season passes, and store changes from pre-order to post-launch.

  • Support the migration/ownership/removal of back catalogue titles back to SEGA from other publishers as well as content removal due to license expiration.

  • Work closely with SEGA of Japan to support the global store-setting process for all titles led by SEGA of America and Japan.

  • Be aware of deadlines and SLAs for all content across all platforms to cover all territories including SEGA of Europe, America, and Japan.

  • Create App IDs, products, bundles, etc. on first-party platforms as required to include high-level product setup.

  • Oversee key management requests for respective studio titles and ensure we are adhering to best practice key security processes.

  • Educate Studios on best practice policy across platforms and work towards best-in-class store pages across all digital storefronts.

Team Management:

  • Responsible for overseeing daily activity and effectively managing the workload across the team.

  • Develop, lead, and mentor direct reports.

  • Support direct reports to set their objectives to promote personal development.

  • Identify the training and upskilling needs of your direct reports and implement the means to address these needs.

  • Conduct quarterly business reviews within the team, reviewing existing processes and business tools, and identifying opportunities for improvement and/or changes.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to identify priorities and work to deadlines.

  • Able to manage complex projects in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.

  • Experience in upskilling direct reports.

  • Ability to pivot management style to adjust to changes in business.

  • Good working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft packages including Outlook.
