Scopely is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Marvel Strike Force team in the US on a remote basis.

What You Will Do:
Work closely with the central Game Analytics Engineering team based in Barcelona to optimize and maintain existing datasets and pipelines for improved performance and accessibility.
Continuously revisit existing implementations to minimize technical debt and drive improvements.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand and address internal data requirements.
Work closely with the feature engineers in identifying which data should be instrumented for their feature, and develop appropriate schemas to guarantee comprehensive data collection.
Drive the development of internal tools and processes to enhance data quality and engineering efficiency. Continuously assess, implement, and monitor data validation and quality, ensuring correctness, completeness, and availability.
Extract crucial information from huge datasets, identify patterns, and prepare them for analysis.
Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies, ensuring our data infrastructure remains cutting-edge.
Contribute to the overall data strategy and governance within the organization.
What We’re Looking For:
5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud data warehouses and pipelines.
Proficiency in Python for data processing, scripting, and automation.
Experience creating bash scripts to automate software installation, file management, data pipelines.
Strong SQL skills with experience in relational data modeling, schema design, and normalization.
Experience working with large-scale datasets and optimizing performance.
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
Comfortable working in a Linux environment and basic server administration tasks.
Previous experience with version control systems, such as Git or Perforce.
Proven track record of success in a Senior Data Engineer or similar role.
Bonus Points
Experience with distributed columnar data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift).
Expertise in Python and Bash scripting beyond basic data processing.
Familiarity with DAG/workflow management tools like Apache Airflow.
Knowledge of containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau).
For candidates in CA, CO, NJ, NY and WA, the annual salary range is $112,500 - $185,600 plus equity, bonus and benefits including healthcare benefits, retirement benefits, pet insurance, paid holidays, paid Scopely free days, and unlimited paid time-off. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
