Position Summary
What you will do day in and day out:
Actively participating in the daily operations of the Turkey accounting team
Preparing and posting journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP, SEC guidelines, Turkish statutory reporting, and company policies
Verifying financial statement assertions are met through timely and accurate balance sheet reconciliations
Understanding business drivers that have direct and indirect impacts on the financial statements
Providing analytical and reporting support to organizational leaders
Preparing the UA reports for incentives during the year
Preparing IFRS reports in Turkish and English annually
Controlling monthly tax accounting for declaration purposes
Ensuring the integrity of financial statements and compliance with all internal controls and regulatory requirements
Monitoring and reporting on cash requirements
Assisting with audit requests
Proposing and implementing approved process changes to drive automation and scalability
Partnering with financial planning and analysis, tax, treasury, and compliance functions to ensure efficiency and compliance
Creating, reviewing, and maintaining audit support.
Additional quests will be assigned by the Financial Controller, Turkey, as organizational needs change.
Requirements:
5+ years of related experience. A mix of experience in public accounting and in a publicly traded, multi-entity organization using a tier 2 or higher ERP (Oracle, SAP, Lawson, Dynamics, etc.) is strongly preferred.
A bachelor’s or higher degree in accounting.
Advanced level of English (oral & written)
An active local CPA license is highly preferred.
A CPA track
A demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (advanced proficiency in Excel)
Proactive problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders across all levels of the organization to effect positive change.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of core accounting and finance principles related to the various accounting cycles.
