Santa Monica Studio is seeking a Sound Design Intern to join our team for our Summer 2024 Internship Program!
Established in 1999, Santa Monica Studio became renowned for excellence in the action/adventure genre with the worldwide award-winning success of the 2005 release, God of War, and its subsequent sequels. God of War (2018) became one of the fastest selling PlayStation 1st-party games of all-time and has since won over 190 Game of the Year awards including DICE, BAFTA, The Game Awards, Game Developers Choice Awards, IGN, Game Informer, EW, and Variety. Our most recent title, God of War: Ragnarök (2022), has since continued this run of commercial and critical success.
Responsibilities:
Support audio needs for game design, cinematics, marketing materials, etc.
Work within the set standard for all sound asset implementation (environmental, character and music) within the production path, as it relates to design, art and otherwise
Collaborate creatively on sound implementation to enhance the gameplay experience
Work with sound designers, artists, programmers, technical sound designers and other teams to accomplish audio consistency and quality
Consistently evaluate the audio for the design assets being created for all of the levels and characters you are responsible for
Address all issues and assist with fixing audio related problems within levels or characters you are responsible for as they arise
Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an accredited institution, pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree majoring in a related field
Projected to graduate between December 2023 – June 2025
Must be available to work for 12 weeks from May – August or June – September
Internships are available to students who are US citizens or international students with an F-1 visa

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role is eligible for SIE’s top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products. $33.25—$45.75 USD
