Why Account Management?

The Account Management team builds the systems that allow users to control their presence on the Roblox platform and how accounts relate to each other. This team owns critical aspects of the user experience, namely the profile and account settings pages, as well as parental controls, awareness and general account linking. These are some of the highest trafficked systems on the platform, and will only increase in usage as you enable more functionality around how users configure their privacy, features, and settings.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Account Management Team you will work with others on the team on multi-quarter projects to rehaul our settings infrastructure, build general account linking systems, and create a safer and more trusted Roblox through parental controls and awareness product features. Our impact comes through teamwork and collaboration across organizational and functional boundaries. If you are an experienced engineer who is passionate about building outstanding features in a data-driven environment, you'll be right at home on the Account Management team.

You Are:

  • Conscientious: You make sure that all the little things get done before you push code to production. You don’t consider a project done if it doesn’t have tests, dashboards, playbooks, communications to partner teams, and alerts.

You Will:

  • Build critical infrastructure to make sure that every user has age and policy appropriate and personalized experiences when using Roblox.

  • Enforce the principle of least privilege. The account identity team strives to respect user privacy by making sure that we expose the minimum amount of user information necessary for product decisions to be made by our fellow Roblox teams.

  • Work cross organizationally. We collaborate with teams and roles throughout Roblox and get a big picture view of how Roblox works.

You Have:

  • 3-7 years of experience in software development.

  • Experience working on a high availability feature.

  • Worked cross organizationally to land a project.

You might have:

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Applied Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or other technical field

  • Familiar with C#, TypeScript, Lua, or Go.

  • Experience with GRPC, Protobuf, React or relational databases.

  • Previously worked on Identity and Access Management systems (IAM). real id verification, or zero-knowledge proofs.
