Why Economy Fraud?
The Economy Fraud team is responsible for multiple projects and products to support a robust economy inside of Roblox. The Economy Fraud team works on a wide range of machine learning problems across Economy including:
Content Understanding and 3D similarity for Avatar Items
Avatar Marketplace Search and Recommendations
Ad and Billing Fraud Detection
Ad Targeting and Prediction
Build, deploy, maintain and monitor high-scale ML solutions while working closely with product engineers and infra engineers.
Implement models, improve infrastructure, build visualizations, perform data analysis, forecast fraud scenarios, and assist fraud investigations.
Collaborate with generalist backend engineers, data scientists, product, and operations.
Build and deliver complex technical projects from the planning stage through execution.
Ensure that our systems are scalable, reliable, and extensible.
4+ years of professional experience building and working on end-to-end ML systems, including data analysis, ML modeling and data pipelines.
Domain experience in fraud, abuse, risk, security, or trust & safety is a plus, but not required.
Passion for delivering products end-to-end, from ideation through implementation and A/B testing, while being empathetic with cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong ownership with proactive, candid communication.
Bachelor's Degree or above in computer science, engineering, mathematics, machine learning, (computational) physics, statistics, or some other quantitative field.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
