Roblox is looking for an experienced Internal Communications professional to lead the internal communications function. You will work with the Executive Leadership Team, including the CEO, and other company partners to develop an employee communication strategy and corporate narrative that amplifies our vision, strategy and marketing initiatives internally within our organization. You will partner with the People Team leadership as it relates to organizational changes, quarterly People programs including performance cycles, as well as developing and refreshing internal communications programs, inclusive of executive communications.
We're looking for a relationship builder who is proficient at storytelling, understands brand and financial communications, and has led internal communications for a founder lead company and can develop content strategies and plans for a growing innovation-focused engineering and product company. A leader who can come up with creative ideas to inform employees through multiple channels: content, events and employee technologies like company Intranets, Slack and other social communications tools. We're looking for an excellent writer and experienced communicator; someone who is strategic about messaging plus the frequency and methods of message distribution. You must be a great collaborator and teammate to others at all levels, across the company. Someone who thinks globally and has the capacity to build and lead an internal communications team. Someone who also understands how strategic internal communications can drive both organizational needs and grow a positive culture.
You will report into the Vice President of Global Communications and be based at HQ in San Mateo, CA.
Connect, inform and inspire employees at every level of our mission, priorities and values through a strategic content strategy, a constant flow of messages and stories
Work with the Executive Leadership Team to align on our strategy, goals, and priorities and communicate their important messages to employees
Produce and manage content for company all-hands and other employee engagement events and channels.
Design structure and develop an editorial content calendar of internal messages that will be pushed through a variety of communication mediums such as email, face-to-face, videos, events and office signage
Lead a review and governance process to improve channel content quality and its impact on employees
Own strategy and results for keeping employees informed on important organizational news and updates in a relevant and engaging manner
Provide strategic, direct hands-on support to key senior executives at Roblox, inclusive of supporting events and written communications
Partner closely with Comms, Investor Relations & People team on company wide communications, including situations of crisis and change management
Proactively identify new opportunities and develop new programs to up level our internal communications program, inclusive of celebrating external accolades, major product launches, highlighting employee/team achievements
Have oversight and management of content across information systems, including our intranet, inclusive of:
Own submission templates, layout, style and format for all pages on intranet to ensure consistency, voice, and representation of brand
Be Responsible for intranet auditing and refreshing stale and out-of-date content using automation as much as possible
12+ years of experience developing strategy and execution in an internal and executive communications role
Experience with a focus on employee engagement, employee experience and employer brand
Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to create and deliver presentations to large and small groups; a deep understanding of grammar, strong attention to detail and fine-tuned editorial skills
An ability to identify latest trends in communications, develop related strategies and translate them into actionable plans
A disposition always looking to improve current processes and looking for new ways to communicate
Experience building programs that inform and delight team members
An the ability to succeed in fluid situations and fast-paced environments
A self-starter nature who independently leads others
Experience working with executives, CEO/Founder lead and engineering cultures
Comfortable with basic video and visual content creation / editing tools; familiarity with other internal communications tools and platforms, e.g. intranet services, events and survey technologies like Slack, etc.
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
