Delivering visually stunning experiences for a global audience while also building new games gives artists exciting and complex problems to solve. Here, artists are working not only with one another but also side-by-side with brand managers, narrative writers, audio designers, and engineers to ensure that each piece of content from Riot reaches the level of quality players deserve. From animations to illustrations, cinematics to comics, and characters to environments, we work as a team to put players first.
As a Senior Visual Design Artist for the League of Legends publishing team, you will report to the Head of China League Publishing. Your craft expertise and eye for art direction will help deliver our players deep engagement and rich fantasy worlds. You will work with internal and external artists and production houses to produce art and creative work at the highest quality bar, at times raising or redefining what good looks like. You will partner with the Brand Manager, Producer, and Craft Lead to support team rituals, art direction, and product cohesion on a variety of art content for brand marketing and business operations.
Define the direction and goals for art and creative content based on Riot guidelines and business needs, responsible for connecting the creative approach to business strategy
Collaborate with internal artists, external partners, and production houses to create graphic/animation/illustration/CG/marketing video assets to drive full-funnel growth
Provide briefs, feedback, and guidance to collaborating Illustrators, animators, and graphic artists for the best art outcomes
Foster and improve efficient and scalable production processes and collaboration patterns with various art partners
Manage a library of CN League publishing art assets
Monitor and analyze art content performance for future growth opportunities
Source potential partners to grow our talent pool
Monitor and provide insights about the market trends and art preference of our target audiences
8+ years of experience in the publishing or entertainment-related industry and providing art direction and mentorship across a multi-disciplinary team
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Miro, and presentation tools
Expert knowledge of Illustration, concept/design, storytelling, animation, and the creative development process
Showcases a strong understanding of brand building, typography, and visual design system
Persistent self-education around innovations in marketing creative
Passion for gaming and the Esports industry
Great writing ability in English
Fluent in spoken English
