Software Engineer Intern - Undergraduate
San Mateo, CA: this position must be performed hybrid out of the SIE-PlayStation office in San Mateo, CA
About the Team:
The Ghost team is responsible for developing and maintaining the Unified Telemetry (UT) libraries, which serve as the primary tool for integrating telemetry instrumentation across all PlayStation applications. These libraries are essential for collecting and processing telemetry data, enabling a seamless and standardized approach to data instrumentation within the PlayStation ecosystem. The UT libraries act as the gateway to Sony Interactive Entertainment's (SIE) data ecosystem, ensuring that telemetry data from various applications is consistently gathered, analyzed, and utilized for improving user experiences and system performance.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Feature development and improvements for telemetry libraries at SIE
Improving the developer experience for client engineers instrumenting telemetry
What We’re Looking For:
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree program in Computer Science or Computer Engineering from an accredited institution, with an expected graduation date by Spring 2026
Passionate about developing solutions that enable other engineers
Curious, actively engaged in conversations and keen on learning
Interested in data & how data drives decisions in the industry
Eligibility:
Able to work during one of the following periods: May 19th - August 8th or June 16th - September 5th.
Must be available for the entire 12-week internship period.
Open to students who are U.S. citizens or international students with an F-1 visa.
Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.
Our intern positions offer a fixed hourly pay rate. Please note that the pay rate is exclusive to the internship period and may not reflect what pay may look like following the completion of an internship.

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location.
Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
