As a Senior Game Application Security Analyst, you will be a core member of security analysts to use our anti-cheat detections. Using your skills, you force-multiply the analysts’ efforts to find the folks who compromise our worlds and spoil our players’ experiences. You will also piece together the clues to make the picture come together and guide the creation of reports of evidence so that SIE can confidently isolate cheaters and ensure fair and honest gameplay. You will be the advocate for analysts with our engineering and data scientist sub-teams to improve our tools and techniques.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cultivate a collaborative team culture where everyone is supported and supplies to the collective pursuit of shared objectives

  • Facilitate investigation campaigns into adversaries and future vulnerabilities; communicate concerns and risks to leadership and game teams

  • Be the starting point for investigating and fixing technical problems, and when necessary, communicate dependencies with external collaborators who can resolve systemic issues

  • Communicate status and risks, including staffing and team health

Qualifications

  • Proven track record as a tech-savvy investigator, adept in uncovering information, solving complex problems, and conducting detailed monitoring

  • Tried ability to craft and present conclusive reports that drive action and targeted outcomes

  • Capability to distill and articulate complex issues, using both partial and comprehensive data sets to validate theories and proactively steer toward effective resolutions

  • Proficient with querying relational databases (e.g., SQL), big data service (e.g., Redshift or Big Query) and using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau) to interpret and present data insights

  • Familiarity with the AAA Games Cheating/Security landscape, and a passion for protecting player experiences

Desired Experience

  • AAA Games Security Experience as a Lead or Senior team member, preferably with a focus on risk-based analysis of anomalies, detection and response

  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., Chinese, Korean, Russian, Japanese, Spanish)

  • Ability and passion for mentoring more junior team members

At SIE, we consider several factors when setting each role’s base pay range, including the competitive benchmarking data for the market and geographic location. Please note that the base pay range may vary in line with our hybrid working policy and individual base pay will be determined based on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role is eligible for SIE’s top-tier benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), paid time off, wellness program and coveted employee discounts for Sony products. This is a flexible role that can be remote, with varying pay ranges based on geographic location. For example, if you are based out of Seattle, the estimated base pay range for this role is listed below.

$172,100—$258,100 USD
